I’m Mercedes Calderón

I’ve been teaching Spanish for over 10 years, working with students from all over the world in academies and one-on-one settings. I also speak English, French, Italian, and Portuguese, so I understand what it’s like to learn a new language from scratch.

I created CONTROLWORD because I noticed most methods teach you to understand, but not to speak. Here, grammar is a tool, not the goal. My focus is real communication: helping you speak confidently, without fear and without translating in your head.
